Jeep JL Broken Seat Latch Install
How to remove and install / replace a broken Jeep JL Seat latch.

I did not need to remove the seat but it is a little tight. You can push the seat forward after removing the rear seat cover by pulling the cable manually to engage it. Takes about 20 minutes and fairly simple. Take note of the way the rear seat cover is removed - remove the 2 screws at the bottom and slide down before removing it. Don't drop the screws as you are taking them out! And definitely clip the zip ties that attach the channel clips to the cable when removing the old and inserting the new one, it makes the process much easier.

Body Tempering

455 at 160lb bodyweight FAIL. Typically, a good warmup would include some hip airplanes which would have adjusted my hip when it appears to have been out of place. The pressure of the contraction on my way up most likely pulled the hip socket out. I thought for sure this was either a torn adductor or detachment... Body Tempering is said to have strengthening properties for the tendons and muscl...

    Thank you very much for this video - very informative. It is possible to release the seat and roll it forward before you start working. If I remember right there is metal bar that you can push up by reaching under the seat toward the rear. It is a manual way to perform the mechanical function of the cable pull. Look under your “working” seat and activate the lever to see about where it is. Regardless, I’ll be ordering this part for my passenger seat and trying this install once it arrives!

      Yes, but in my case it wouldn’t do that. Check out what I did at the 4:00 mark. Once I removed the cover I used pliers to pull the cable that the broken clip was supposed to pull. And another option would be to unbolt the large Torx screws (55 Torx size I think) and remove the whole seat.

      Yep, I am considering removing my seat to do it since it should not have much wiring (my Jeep is as stock as I could make it). Thanks for the part numbers!

    In my seat another small part is broken, a small piece on the seat right slide that stop the seat and let it come back in position. You can see at time 18:54. Have you a solution?

    It appears that on your JL, the cable broke or came apart. I couldn't tell from your video. In my JL, the actual plastic housing that the release handle pivots in broke. I'm not sure if I have to replace the entire assembly like you or just the housing. I am not looking forward to going through all the hassle you did. What happened with yours? Did the cable break or because detached behind the seat? I couldn't tell.

    • @IronEmpireDover
      @IronEmpireDover 9 месяцев назад

      The plastic latch broke, but it is sold as an assembly. I think it was around $20 shipped, not a big deal. I listed the part number at 0:03 of the video, both the passenger and drivers side. Don’t stress it, it’s an easy fix. Just replace the assembly like I did.

    just pull the seat out its so uncomfortable to work like that

    • @IronEmpireDover
      @IronEmpireDover 9 месяцев назад

      I did this with the other seat. Kinda a pain either way. You have to disconnect the wires from the seat if you take them out and those are a pain to put back in after putting the seat back in the Jeep. I preferred this method, it was a lot quicker.

    • @IronEmpireDover

      This puts no load on the spine and there are many different ways to target areas that a barbell wouldn’t. If you’re interested, find a place that has one.

    Is this done daily? Is this weight sufficient for legs and back? These rollers are very pricey but I really need to find a way to free up my lower back and hamstrings...lots of kettle bells and squats

    • @IronEmpireDover
      @IronEmpireDover 5 лет назад

      AllAluminum depends, I do this as needed if biceps are tight. The weight depends on the person but typically I would use 120 to 175 for back and legs. There really is no way around the cost of the rollers since the price of raw steel is fairly high and it is the only way to keep the tools sized properly with the density of steel.

    • @IronEmpireDover
      @IronEmpireDover 8 лет назад

      +steve protomastro Might depend on your Monolift and floor type. In our case, bolting the rack down would make it easier to break. This test threw the bolt pattern off and if it was bolted it could have bent the frame. After this test we loosened the bolts and straightened it out no problem. I would probably say not to bolt it down, in fact, our Monolift doesn't even have a place to do so.
